The Encinitas primary bath needed more than a surface update. Taking the 180-square-foot room back to the studs exposed the waterproofing, plumbing, and finish decisions that had to be resolved together for a durable rebuild.
A primary bath taken back to studs. New waterproofing, a curbless shower, and a quieter tile language.
The Encinitas primary bath needed more than a surface update. Taking the 180-square-foot room back to the studs exposed the waterproofing, plumbing, and finish decisions that had to be resolved together for a durable rebuild.
The team rebuilt the wet-area assembly with new waterproofing, coordinated the plumbing around a curbless shower, and developed a restrained tile palette across the room. The technical layers and visible finish work were treated as one six-week construction sequence.
The completed primary bath combines a curbless shower, renewed waterproofing, updated plumbing work, and a consistent tile language within the existing 180-square-foot room.
